LUMINOUS C & SEA FACIAL

By Hayley:

I had my first “C” and “Sea” during the winter when my skin was looking dull. It gave it a much brighter appearance, with my skin feeling softer and firmer after the treatment. Having returned from a week in the Dominican Republic sun, my skin is looking much less dull, but it is showing evidence of dehydration and damage. I love to be in the sun, but as I burn very easily, I am usually found moving around, or reading a book under the shade of a hat. That wasn’t the case when I was younger and more foolish. My uneven skin tone and dark patches around the eyes are testament to days without sun protection.

The great benefits in “C” and “Sea” come from both of those things. The first being a high-potency of vitamin C and the other is freeze-dried seaweed and the wonderful properties it delivers.

I have written about Pevonia facials previously, so won’t go into a step-by-step account today. However, it is worth reminding you that there are some lovely extras to a Pevonia face treatment that I have not experienced elsewhere.

Once cocooned in the softly-lit treatment room, listening to relaxing spa music and letting the stresses of the day melt away, my therapist performed the Wellness Fusion Ritual Welcome. This is a spa sensory experience targeting the body, mind and spirit to promote optimal wellness. It uses kneading, pressing and stretching techniques on the shoulders, back, arms and hands. It is a wonderful way to relax into the treatment to come.

One tip for you, arrive at your appointment without make-up. Although your therapist will still thoroughly clean your skin, they will spend less time on this phase and more time where you really want them to.

After cleansing, exfoliation and extractions, an ampoule of Vitamin C with Oxyzomes was massaged and pressed into my face and neck until fully absorbed. My therapist had already prepared the seaweed gel, by mixing the freeze-dried powder with cool water. This was then applied to by skin using the Wellness Fusion Ritual Pevopressure Massage. The most wonderful face massage I have experienced and one I wanted to go on and on.

Next, it was time for the mask itself, which was applied around the pads covering my eyes. This is a soft, lift-off mask that stays on the skin for 10 minutes. During this time, my third added extra came into play, with the Fusion Ritual Treatment Conclusion. Tension Relief Gel was kneaded and massaged into my calves and feet. This is very cooling on the skin and a great treat for tired legs.

The mask was then lifted off my face, after carefully releasing the edges. It comes off in one piece, with just a few tiny bits left around the edges. These were wiped away with a cool towel. My therapist showed me the inside of the mask and pointed out the evidence of dehydration.

The treatment finished with the application of lotion, eye gel and Rejuvenating Dry Skin Cream, before I was treated to the hot towel neck roll and a spritz of Phyto-Aromatic Mist.

With my skin being dry at the current time, my therapist recommends using Pevonia’s Dry Skincare products at home. I use both the Vitaminic Concentrate and C Complexe with Oxyzomes, depending on my skin needs at the time. I’ve been using C Complexe, but have been advised to switch to the Vitaminic Concentrate for a while, as vitamins A and E help increase the moisture content, whilst nourishing, softening and smoothing the skin.

As I leave the spa, I have to say my skin felt more nourished and I think it looked brighter. This lasted for several days afterwards too.

Products used in the Luminous C & Sea Mask Treatment, that are also available for home use, include:

Eye Make-Up Remover (200ml)

Phyto-Gel Cleanser (200ml)

C Complexe with Oxyzomes (30ml)

Tension Relief Gel (100ml)

Phyto-Aromatic Mist (200ml)
