WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

From Dream To Reality

The majority of big dreams are birthed in the midst of life’s most challenging moments. It’s amidst those times that the human spirit often takes flight. 

This was very much the case with Pevonia co-founders; husband and wife, Philippe and Sylvie Hennessy. The Hennessys' have overcome many obstacles on their journey to ongoing success.

This power duo was instrumental in the development of today’s spa industry. As a founding member of ISPA, Philippe led efforts to establish esthetic licensing in the United States. Inspired by years of business insight, Philippe and Sylvie agreed that their beloved industry needed a serious infusion of empowerment in order to reach a global level of prestige and acknowledgement. This birthed their vision to create and manufacture the first-ever professional spa skincare brand in 1991 ... Pevonia Natural Skincare!

BEHIND THE LEGEND

The name Pevonia stems from Greek mythology.

Legend has it that the gods’ physician, Paion, discovered peonia – exquisite flowers filled with a magical essence. Once extracted, its purity and power could miraculously cure a number of ills. And so the legend grew…

When Philippe and Sylvie Hennessy launched Pevonia in October 1991, little did they realise how quickly it would become one of the premier skin, body and spa lines both nationally and internationally.

HOW DID PEVONIA UK EVOLVE?

Pevonia UK (PUK) became one of the first European Distributors of Pevonia in 1999. All of the current team members have been with the company for over 20 years, and make-up the Sales, Marketing, Education and Social Media departments.

The company’s main base was in Suffolk until late 2023 when PUK was sold and the Distribution Centre moved to Wales. The off-site Sales & Training team remained, and the Marketing, Training & Social Media departments were able to set up new offices in Suffolk, which enabled them to retain their loyalty with the company, and the new owner.

PUK has sustained strong relationships with their business Accounts, many of whom have been with the company for some 25 years. The new owner of PUK brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and concepts to the board, as well as a growing team including digital marketing, design, website and R&D specialists, all of whom will enable the company to continue to grow, whilst providing an outstanding service for all concerned.

Since our inception in 1991, Pevonia continues to source nothing but the best, highest quality non-GMO, natural ingredients from around the earth and sea. All of Pevonia’s botanical extracts are derived from renewable plant sources and utilise innovative biotechnology requiring only a minimal amount of plant material, so earth’s natural sources are unharmed. Co-Founder Sylvie Hennessy has travelled the world over the last 30 years to personally source specific ingredients to enable her to produce natural, yet effective formulas in the most sustainable way.

PEVONIA MANUFACTURING GREEN TECHNOLOGIES – HOW DO WE DO IT?

To go beyond organic, Pevonia uses green biotechnology in our formulations. Delivery systems are made of skin-friendly oils, algae, or vitamins to connect effortlessly with your skin. Micro-molecules ensure absolute product absorption so there is no waste – only results. A multi-chamber freeze drying system removes moisture and naturally preserves the ingredients. Molecules are perfectly extracted to feed your skin cells the nutrients they crave.

Biotechnology uses a minimal amount of plant tissue that is gently scraped from the source. This process helps preserve the plant’s tissue for a better and healthier extract. Without damaging or endangering the botanical species, this process ensures no negative impact on the environment, so earth’s natural sources are unharmed.
