The Pevonia serum collection includes a wide range of intensifiers, concentrates, complexes and spot treatments. But don’t let the various names confuse you. Each of these corrective natural skin care products is designed to proactively change your skin. Serums contain high concentrations of carefully selected active ingredients that target specific concerns. To help our serums penetrate deeply and achieve desired results, we use ingredients that are compatible with the skin. But we don’t stop there! We formulate serums with advanced technologies and delivery systems that reduce molecule size and encourage the best absorption possible. Most of our formulas are water-based, whereas our face oils are enriched with nutrient-rich oils. This distinction is the first clue to tell you when to use what.

It’s all in the prep

Cleanser * Lotion/Toner * Serum * Moisturiser

Before jumping into these treatment-oriented steps, it is essential to prep your skin. For maximum results, wash your face and neck with a natural skin cleanser, followed by an alcohol-free lotion/toner to complete your cleanse.  Now, your skin is ready to receive its well-deserved intensive care! Remember to exfoliate a couple times a week to remove dead skin cells and amplify the effects of serums and oils. Always finish with your chosen moisturiser.

For daytime use, either use an SPF product between the serum and moisturiser, or choose a moisturiser with SPF. Alternatively, use an SPF product within your make-up routine.

How to apply skin serum 

Now that you have selected your serum, and prepped your skin, the next question is when to use your serum and how. The rule of thumb for product usage is to apply your serum first, then follow with a skin care cream or face oil to seal it in. Next, dispense one to two pumps to your fingertips and apply to your face and neck. Lightly massage into your skin and repeat morning and night. No need to warm between palms or press into the skin with fingers, as we’ve taken care of ensuring the serums will penetrate on their own.

It is essential to layer your serum with a moisturiser to immediately lock in its treatment goodness and prevent product and moisture evaporation. Oily and combination skin types may choose to proceed directly to sun protection in the daytime.

How to incorporate face oils

Face oils are a wonderful thirst-quenching addition to skincare routines. If your skin is especially dry, use 3 to 5 drops of Pevonia face oil in the evening in place of your preferred moisturiser. You can also apply face oils before your skin care cream or layer on top for added defence against dryness. Be sure to select mineral oil-free formulas, like our Vitaminic Concentrate and De-Stress Escape Aromatic Oil. Serum, concentrate and face oil best practices

Patience is an important component of corrective skincare. Chances are, what you see today in your skin took years to appear and needs ample time to allow your products to work their magic. Whatever formulas you choose, stick with them for no less than two to three months of daily application to allow them to do their job!
